Cedar Lake Road and Louisiana Avenue rebuild adds a roundabout and new utilities
What's happening in St. Louis Park right now
The final phase of the Cedar Lake Road and Louisiana Avenue Improvements project is underway from April through November 2026. The project rebuilds and narrows the roadway, adds a new roundabout at Cedar Lake Road and Louisiana Avenue, builds new sidewalks and a cycle track, and replaces the water, storm, and sanitary sewer utilities underneath. As of this month, Cedar Lake Road is closed to through traffic from Rhode Island to Kentucky Avenue, and Louisiana Avenue is closed from the fire station to the railroad bridge. Phase C covers Louisiana Avenue (BNSF to Fire Station 2) and Cedar Lake Road (Nevada to Kentucky) through November; Phase D covers Cedar Lake Road (Rhode Island to Nevada) through September. This follows the 2025 county rebuild of nearby Minnetonka Boulevard, a corridor untouched since 1952.
