The White Bear Lake City Council awarded contracts on June 23 for the city's Emerald Ash Borer response: $299,941 to Precision Landscape and Tree for removal of about 350 to 375 ash trees, and $126,468 to Hoffman McNamera Nursery for replacement planting. The city secured a nearly $500,000 grant to fund the program. Removal work is happening across public boulevards and city property throughout 2026. Separately, the White Bear Lake Area School District (ISD 624) is moving through its "Building Our Future" facilities process, which will drive additional utility and site work at multiple school properties over the next several years.
