πŸ“ Local construction update

Stacy Ice Arena state grant + CSAH 19 (Stacy Trail) roundabout work

What's happening in Stacy right now

Two big things are moving in Stacy. The Minnesota Legislature appropriated $5 million in fiscal 2026 to the North Branch Area Hockey Association as a grant for the design, construction, and equipment of the Stacy Ice Arena β€” a major new civic building for a small town. And to the south, CSAH 19 (Stacy Trail) reconstruction β€” the same road that carries the town's name β€” is being fully rebuilt from CR 34 (Lofton Ave) to CR 14 (Lincoln Rd), with a new single-lane roundabout at Lofton Ave, turn lanes, a 10-ft shared-use trail, and full stormwater management. Construction is running through October under a Highway 8 detour.

What this means for your drains

New construction is the biggest predictor of drain and sewer problems 3-5 years out. Whether it's the ice arena build or the corridor rebuild of Stacy Trail, here's what we typically see:

  • Settlement around sewer laterals β€” the pipe from your house to the city main sinks in freshly graded ground, creating sags where grease and paper collect
  • Construction debris in the line β€” concrete washout, drywall dust, sand β€” anything that made it into the sewer during a nearby build shows up as backups months later
  • Root intrusion after tree removal β€” when trees near a project get cleared and their root systems die, the wood decays and creates voids around old clay laterals that then collapse

If your home is in a Stacy neighborhood built in the last 10 years and you've never had the sewer camera-scoped, now is a smart time β€” a camera inspection today can catch a cracked or root-filled line before it becomes an emergency dig. If you're on well-and-septic, we service floor drains, kitchen lines, and drain tile in the same visit.

Call 612-382-7397 or book a camera inspection.
