Kitchen lines take the worst of it — cooking grease, fats, coffee grounds, starchy food, and dish soap all go down the same drain. Grease can ride hot water past the trap, then cool and build up downstream where the pipe is colder. A garbage disposal grinds food smaller, but it does not stop that material from packing into the grease already on the pipe wall.
Most kitchen clogs sit in the trap or the branch line on the way to the main. We clear it through the sink or a nearby cleanout, run water to confirm the line is open, and tell you honestly whether cable cleaning handled it or whether a grease-caked line is likely to need flex shaft cleaning or hydro jetting.
